ONE IS ALWAYS WISER AFTERWARDS. OR BEFORE

CHOOSE QUALITY

INDEPENDENT QUALITY SEAL

Whether you are dressing 5 or 5,000 members of staff – always choose quality! You can identify it by the numerous certificates that apply to the entire HAKRO collection.

OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100

Workwear is worn directly against the skin for many hours every day, so you should have the highest expectations with regard to the materials used for it. The Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX® quality seal certifies that no hazardous substances are present and that every single item of HAKRO clothing is absolutely safe to health.

TESTED FIT

When lots of different people are being given new clothes, it is particularly important that you are able to rely on the fit being absolutely right for the particular clothing sizes. After all, your staff's T-shirts should be long enough, the sleeves wide enough and the jackets comfortable enough for them. That is why all HAKRO designs are regularly checked for dimensional accuracy.

FAIR PRODUCTION CONDITIONS

Make sure that the textiles you choose are made under fair, social and safe working conditions. There are also certificates for this. HAKRO has been a member of amfori BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative) since 2012. We only work with manufacturers who comply with the amfori BSCI Code of Conduct. Adherence to these standards is regularly monitored by independent auditors.

FIND THE RIGHT CLOTHING

SCOPE

What are the basic modules that you want for your workwear? What aims do you wish to achieve with your corporate fashion? Do you want to dress your staff completely from head to toe, or is it sufficient if they all wear a shirt in the same colour? A uniform look can easily be achieved, for instance, even if everyone simply has a top in the same colour.

REQUIREMENTS

Where will the clothing be worn? In the office, a production hall, at a counter with customer contact, or outside in all weathers? Will the textiles be heavily stressed by dirt, perspiration and external influences? Is there a requirement for temperature-regulating functional fabrics and special finishes? Different departments may well have different requirements. Talk to your staff and include them in the planning.

CLOTHING LAYERS

If you use different layers of clothing, your staff will be ready for any weather conditions even if they work outside. Ideally, a set should consist of three layers: a base layer that is worn next to the skin, a mid-layer of a sweatshirt, hoodie and blouse or shirt, and an outer layer that could be a fleece, softshell or outdoor jacket. The layers are either worn individually or together, depending on the weather.

MATERIAL

The material should be matched as closely as possible to the place of use and the type of work. Pure cotton absorbs moisture instantly, and is the usual choice for indoor use. For outdoor activities, it's better to go for mixed cotton and polyester fabrics such as our Mikralinar®. This high-performance fabric remains colourfast and dimensionally stable even in strong UV rays and strenuous activities, is very well tolerated by the skin and easy-care.

DRESSING A TEAM

APPEARANCE

Corporate fashion is much more than just clothing. It makes your workforce into a team, transports your brand's values and goals, and even leaves room for individuality. So be bold, creative and discerning when you make your choices. For instance, you can choose a colour and then let every member of staff choose their own favourite from a selection of pre-defined models. The more you integrate your team, the greater the acceptance and connecting effect for your company.

COMMUNICATIVE EFFECT

Whether a DIY store, hotel or service station, the clothing instantly shows that the person behind the counter is really a part of it. It gives the customers orientation and creates trust. At the same time, it is a living communication, and is becoming an increasingly essential part of an integrated corporate identity. Workwear that is carefully chosen to match a company's style proves appreciation, and instantly comes across as competent and professional.

MOTIVATION

Uniform clothing makes every member of staff an ambassador for the brand and provides motivation. Take this opportunity and include the whole team in choosing the collection; this boosts acceptance and strengthens the identifying effect. Perhaps you could even ask a few of them to model the chosen items. Your HAKRO retailer will be pleased to advise you, and will assist you with any questions concerning samples and patterns.

FIND THE RIGHT SIZE AND FIT

CLOTHING SIZES

The style of your new corporate workwear should suit your brand, the sizes fit every member of staff perfectly. That is why it is important to find out the clothing sizes of everyone who is going to wear this new workwear in advance. As we all know, textiles that we buy in a shop may be smaller or larger than we expect. Not so with HAKRO. The fits in all the styles match the measurements taken in regular measurement series.

CUTS

Every single item of our clothing is designed for the wearer to feel comfortable, have plenty of freedom of movement and - thanks to the perfect cut - look good as well. Our entire collection consists of three basic cuts, or fits: COMFORT FIT, REGULAR FIT and BODY FIT. The various symbols illustrate how a style fits on the body.

COMFORT FIT

Designs with an ultra-comfortable, casual fit. They are notable for having a casual cut, fit loosely against the body and offer plenty of "wiggle room" and freedom of movement.

REGULAR FIT

Our classic fit. The body silhouette is gently emphasised by the subtle cut, yet the designs still offer plenty of freedom of movement.

BODY FIT

Figure-hugging and gently tailored, our fashionable fit suits the trend for the slender silhouette.

CHOOSE THE RIGHT COLOUR

BRILLIANCE

A brilliant colour that retains its intensity for a long time will set your workwear apart from the rest. That's why it's not only important to choose the right colour, but the quality of the dyes is also important for achieving the right effect. At HAKRO, we use dyes that have been specially developed for us to suit the particular fibres. Our own colour management system provides colourfastness in all the materials. Once you have chosen a particular colour, you can be sure that you will be able to order exactly the same shade again at any time, without having to wait.

INDUSTRY COLOUR

Industry-specific colours combine tradition and practicality. No one will notice a few wood shavings on a carpenter's beige polo shirt, while a baker will look smarter in white than in a sensitive dark blue. And to help you find your favourite colour whatever your industry, we offer 7 shades of green, 4 of beige, 15 of blue and 7 of grey.

CORPORATE COLOUR

If you already have a defined corporate design, choose your corporate fashion collection to match it. That's not to say that your company colour has to be the dominant one in your workwear. You can also choose other shades to suit it, and maybe have them finished with your logo. And if you want an even more special colour, we will manufacture textiles in them for you (minimum quantity applies).

COMBINATIONS

You can add colour by combining different shades. Classic options are complementary colours or harmonious combinations from one colour family. Incidentally, we also offer some designs in two-toned versions.

APPLY YOUR LOGO

PLACEMENT

The suitable finishes will turn plain T-shirts, polo shirts and jackets into unique corporate clothing. The quality and the smoothness of the material are essential for ensuring perfect results. Incidentally, when we develop our cuts, we take great care to ensure there are excellent placement options for your logo. This means that even unusual solutions are possible with motifs on sleeves, shoulders, collar or the back of the neck.

SCREEN PRINT

Different variations of screen printing offer a tremendous variety of design options and an almost unlimited colour spectrum. Photographic motifs and colour gradients can also be used in screen printing. The colours are very highly resistant to light and weather. This method can also be used to finish even large quantities of items inexpensively.

TRANSFER PRINT

This technique can also be used to reproduce the most delicate colour sequences and photos. The colours are pre-printed onto carrier paper using screen print machines. The motif is then transferred to the fabric using a transfer press under pressure and heat. As soon as the adhesive has cooled on the top layer, the backing can be lifted off. The motif remains on the textile. The resulting print feels slightly rubbery and has a closed, airtight surface.

HOW TO LOOK AFTER TEAMWEAR

DOMESTIC LAUNDRY

When planning a workwear collection, it is important to consider the question of cleaning and looking after it. A lot of companies decide that their staff can launder their clothing themselves at home. This means that there should be an appropriate stock of textiles available to them, sufficient to last for at least a week. But wherever the laundering is done, it is important to follow the care instructions to ensure the textiles last for a long time.

COMMERCIAL LAUNDRY

Often, textiles care is handed over to a commercial laundry, where the textiles are subjected to extremely tough conditions. Our Performance collection has been specially prepared for the extreme conditions in commercial laundries. The garments are exceptionally dimensionally stable and colourfast, and have leasing marks – for easy identification in commercial laundries – and two hanging tapes on the hem.

CHOOSE THE QUANTITY

CALCULATION

The type of activity determines the number of garments each member of staff requires. Does the wearer have frequent contact with customers and so needs to look clean and tidy at all times? Does the clothing have to work hard so it regularly has to be replaced? It's a good idea to divide your staff into groups, such as reception, administration, sales staff and production. Then calculate the number of layers each group will need, then the quantity per person.

FIRST LAYER OF CLOTHING

If T-shirts, tops or polo shirts are being worn against the skin, then each member of staff should have at least five of them. This means they can wear a fresh one every day and wash them all once a week. Staff who are in frequent contact with customers may need more than one item a day. We also recommend two to three further items per wearer.

MIDDLE LAYER OF CLOTHING

These textiles are worn over the first layer of clothing, and have no or little contact with the skin. They could be knitted or fleece sweatshirts, hoodies or jackets. As they don't need to be washed every day, three should suffice for each member of staff, with possibly one additional one.

OUTER LAYER OF CLOTHING

We know from experience that it is usually enough to have one garment to wear over all the others. If your staff spend most of their time outdoors, then it's a good idea to have a combination of two different items for the various seasons, for instance a jacket plus a fleece jacket. An additional item will usually only be required if the garments are hard-working or worn in a dirty environment.

CALCULATE WITH MORE

ORDER SPARES

It's a good idea to include a few spares with your first order, especially if you're finishing the clothing with a logo or lettering. The larger the quantity, the cheaper the finishes are. Best to order a number of additional items in the most common sizes. This means you'll always have spares as well as stocks for any new members of staff.

REORDERS

If you want to reorder a large quantity of garments or to increase your collection, that is also very easy to arrange. There are also large quantities of all our designs in our never-out-of-stock warehouse in Schrozberg, ready to be called off at any time. Our colour management system makes sure that even reorders sent years later will come in exactly the same shade as the first order.
